II · BESPOKE

Bespoke

Three to four fittings. One garment, made by hand.

The Process

The Bespoke Process

A bespoke commission begins with a private consultation at the atelier. Andu Peride studies posture and silhouette. The pattern is drafted by hand, cut from the client’s own measurements, and kept at the atelier. Through three to four fittings the garment is shaped, refined and finished by hand.

I · THE CONSULTATION

The Consultation

At the atelier, occasion and use are discussed. Cloth is selected from English mills (Holland & Sherry, Scabal) and Italian houses (Loro Piana, Drapers). Posture and silhouette are studied. First measurements are taken.

II · PATTERN & CUTTING

Pattern & Cutting

The pattern is drafted by hand for the client alone — chalk on paper, kept at the atelier. The cloth is cut on the wooden table. The canvas, made from natural horsehair or camel hair, is shaped and basted inside the chest — it stretches and contracts with body heat, allowing the garment to breathe and to settle with use. The first basted garment is assembled for fitting.

III · FITTINGS & FINISHING

Fittings & Finishing

Across three to four fittings the garment is adapted to the body: a quarter-inch at the shoulder, an eighth at the waist. Lapels are rolled by hand, buttonholes worked, edges pick-stitched. The finished garment is delivered.

The Craft

Four thousand stitches.

Hand-rolled lapel at the atelier

Our couture jacketings are hand-stitched with over four thousand stitches into specific points of the canvas — so the overall fit reads relaxed and elegant, without compromising on shape.

The drape of the garment is natural. The canvas is made from natural horsehair or camel hair — it stretches and contracts with body heat, creating an organic fit and allowing breathability through hot and humid conditions.

Over time, the fabric reaches its maximum potential, becoming more stretchy to adapt to the body. Especially as the body changes with age — when shape is lost — the garment follows the form. The garment adapts. The shape is kept.

“Everything is handmade, and it is on purpose. It is about the functional details, the supreme quality — and the ‘imperfections’ that are the real perfection.”
